The strength of our engineering team is core to building products for our customers. We are looking for a hands-on Management Engineer for our delivery hub in Cape Town. You should have proven technical expertise, leadership experience and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for supporting and guiding engineers, as well as implementing the overall technical strategy of projects.
You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.
Our stack is primarily Typescript (including NextJS, React, React Native) but we also have Python (including Django) and PHP projects. We use PaaS hosting solutions (including Vercel) as well as deploying larger projects on the major cloud providers (especially AWS and GCP).
We believe AI is a huge accelerator for the work we do, especially combined with great foundational expertise.
- Tech Lead our biggest and most important projects
- Work with developers, project managers, product owners, designers and customers to ideate software solutions in an agile environment
- Foster high performing software engineering teams
- Participate in the decision-making process to design application architecture
- Develop and manage well-functioning, well-tested and well-documented applications
- Understand the implications of security and data protection
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, including code and architecture reviews
- Follow and assist in the development of MOHARA’s development best practices through owning one of our quarterly rock initiatives
- Drive the adoption of AI use across our teams
- Follow a hybrid working pattern (at least 2 days a week in the office)
- 7+ years experience in web/mobile development
- 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role
- Demonstrable excellence in project delivery
- Great communication and teamwork skills
